Pilar tekent met kleurpotlood taferelen uit haar directe omgeving. De keuze van het materiaal en de thema’s getuigen van haar voorliefde voor het dagelijkse banale.
De tekeningen intrigeren door de vaardigheid waarmee iedere potloodlijn en zachte overgang gezet worden; altijd realistisch zonder exact te willen zijn.
Ze hercreëert haar wereld, laat zichzelf en de kijker pauzeren, om stil te staan bij courante handelingen en alomaanwezige triviale ingrediënten van de dagen.
Pilar (°1997, Antwerpen) woont in Leuven en heeft er haar tekentafel staan. Doorheen de week werkt zij ook als docente tekenen aan een middelbare Steinerschool in Antwerpen.
Pilar draws scenes from her immediate surroundings using colored pencils. The choice of materials and themes reflects her fondness for the everyday, the banal.
The drawings captivate in a skillful way where each pencil line and soft transition is applied; always realistic without striving for exactness. She recreates her world, allowing both herself and the viewer to pause and reflect on common actions and the omnipresent trivial ingredients of daily life.

Pilar (b. 1997, Antwerp) lives in Leuven, where she has her drawing table. During the week, she also works as a drawing teacher at a Waldorf school in Antwerp.
